My favourite sports romance series

The Windy City Series by Liz Tomforde.

Starting of with 1. My favourite romance series and 2. A favourite trope of mine (a sports romance) put those two together and you get 'The windy city series'. This series so far consists of Mile high, The Right Move, Caught Up and a fourth & fifth book in the making which i am beyond excited for.

The first book in the series is Mile High i rated it 5

my review of mile high.

Stevie shay and Evan Zanders. I adored their characters individually and as a couple.

The author knew what she was doing when she wrote this book, the first one in the series focuses on hockey player Evan Zanders and flight attendant Stevie Shay. Stevie is working on the hockey teams private plane travelling with them throughout the hockey season. The diversity, the plus size representation, mental health talk/therapy, dog shelters and love for thrift stores, dealing and healing from past abandonment and judgement, the side characters, everything mentioned was written perfectly and although it was over 600 pages by the end I wanted more.
Chapter 20 was so wholesome, the dog shelter and Rosie oh my heart was melting. Liz knew what she was doing when she included that in the story. Perfection.
Stevie is a strong fmc and I just loved her, I loved seeing her gain the confidence and realising her worth and how beautiful she is inside and out, her witty personality and the back and fourth banter with Zanders just made the chemistry between them perfect. Both on the plane and when they would bump into each other made me laugh out loud at parts.
“You don’t have to love your body every single day. That’s unrealistic to expect, but I’ll be here loving it for the days you can’t.” Evan Zanders.
Zanders was believed to be an arrogant, player type at first but once he meets Stevie you see his real character and we get the real person beneath the professional famous hockey player and not the arrogant arse his PR want him to be. The growth and healing from past abandonment for both characters made me so happy and proud of these fictional characters. I closed the book with happy tears wanting more.

The second book in the series is 'The Right Move' i rated this one beyond 5 because it just blew me out of the water.

my review of the right move.

The way this man was written, Mr Ryan Shay deserves the world and all the love one fiction character can get. And once again I loved the main female character, Indy Ivers. We briefly meet her in mile high, she is Stevie shays best friend, Stevie's colleague from the plane, i could tell she would be a good main character and i loved been right.

I don’t know what she put in this book but there is some kind of “I’m going to make you love this book more than any other” magic dust in here. This is a book you carry on thinking about months after reading it (well i have anyway). I am obsessed, the characters, their story everything. Indy Ivers and Ryan Shay are such a powerful couple. They are perfect for each other,  As a partnership and as individuals i love so much, their characters were written beautifully, perfectly.
Indy Ivers, a strong heroine, she loves her iced coffees no matter the weather, she loves flowers, bright happy colours, and is a romance reader she is hilarious and always coming at you with the wit. I love how confident and honest she is, beautiful and smart. I love how she makes Ryan feel safe and wanted as it is a big thing for Ryan, in the book you see why he has trust issues and man I don’t blame the guy.

The most famous basketball player in the world and this alpha male has to keep up a clean image, he literally doesn’t risk a thing, his home feels like a Prison to him…until Miss Ivers comes along and changes the ball game for him quite literally. She brought colour back into his life in the most wholesome way. This man noticed every single detail about her, knew what she loved, how smart and kind she was, he saw her worth and he showed her how to be loved. He would do things without been asked,  he learnt sign language because her dad is deaf, he learnt it without her knowing so he could communicate with him (her ex boyfriend and friends never did) This quote by Indy explains perfectly how he was with her, he didn’t need to tell her, he showed her he loved her in the most little but perfect ways.

“Cold coffee waiting for me in the fridge. Fresh flowers, though sometimes dead because he tried to hard to keep them alive, sitting on the kitchen island for me at home after every road trip, making sure I have food I can eat. (Vegetarian) “Sometimes the quietest love is the loudest” absolutely.

The third and most recent release is Caught Up and no surprise here but i rated that one 5★ also. The whole series for me is just a 5

This was the latest book in the series, the sport focuses on baseball. This released on October 10th and yes, i dropped everything and started reading it on my kindle, and yes i absolutely loved it. Liz knows how to write her sports romances, they just get better and better. Caught up is about a baseball player called Malakai who is a single dad and in need of a nanny but every nanny Kai hires, it never works out. Cue until the coach's daughter makes an entrance Miller Montgomery. I didn't think 'The right move' could be topped for number one spot for me but turns out that was called Caught Up. It has some very swoon worthy moments in it, the tropes in it are *chefs kiss* single dad & nanny trope, sports romance,  one bed, coach's daughter. It has all the found family aspect and the characters that we love from the first two and some new additions to, millers dad Monty is a firm favourite he is a loveable character and i enjoyed every scene he had with miller and kai. Not to mention an absolute delightful scene between Ryan and Indy which i would like a bonus chapter on that special day as i would love to see Ryan's Pov for that moment. I am going to do a full review on this book soon as i feel this post is possibly long enough now that you may be bored, and truth be told the book deserves its own page.

" I simply stopped running, when the two best boys i know caught me" Miller Montgomery. (inserts cute sad face emoji)

Every romance reading lover NEEDS to read this book you will not regret it. It has been so refreshing to reading these books both book couples show what a healthy loving relationship looks like and I just love to read these types of books they make me feel all giddy inside.

All three books are able to be purchased on amazon, and should be in your bookstores. Even better they are included on Kindle Unlimited. I hope if you read this series you enjoy it, if you have already read it what did you think?

Sending love & thanking you for reading x
